The Secret of the Schwartz – by Ellen Barth, Marketing
Social Media – whether we like it or not, it is here to stay. It is a useful tool to keep our membership informed, help us feel connected to our Shir Shalom community and increase our visibility in the greater Westchester and Fairfield area.
Social Media activity also helps determine our visibility in a web search. Google and other search engines pick up our activity and move our listing up or down the search page. It is a dynamic process, so we want a constant activity to maintain our placement. There are ways to increase our visibility by paying Google etc, but we can maintain high visibility for free by keeping our Social Media activity levels up.
While the Marketing Team develops the website (coming soon, I promise) and posts events on Facebook and Twitter, we want Shir Shalomers to take action, too.
Let’s start with Facebook participation. Out of approximately 300 families, we have 165 people who follow us on Facebook. It is a good start – let’s double that number by next month.
If you are on Facebook, please “Like” us right away. If you aren’t on Facebook yet, please set up an account so you can “Like” us – ask the closest teenager about how you can be as open, private or stealth as you like on Facebook.
Your participation on Facebook will have a positive impact on Shir Shalom – believe it! May the Schwartz be with you!
