In 2014, we moved to Fairfield County from Arizona with our young son Ike, preparing to welcome our second child. We knew we wanted to spend more time as a family exploring our faith and instilling Jewish values in our children. We were fortunate to find Congregation Shir Shalom and enroll our children into the synagogue’s preschool. With its warm, inviting and welcoming culture, Congregation Shir Shalom quickly became our Jewish home. And it has become so much more: a place to take a much needed rest at the end of busy weeks with other weary parents at Tot Shabbat; a place to reflect on how we are living our lives during the High Holy Days; a place to have meaningful conversations with other Jews when synagogues are attacked, or after swastikas are found in our beautiful park in downtown Ridgefield.
Now, it is our turn to help. We now have three young children and it is vitally important that Congregation Shir Shalom continues to evolve as a source of strength and pride for our family, and for all our current and future congregants. We want Congregation Shir Shalom to thrive by expanding and strengthening our programming, prudently investing to make us as proud of our beautiful synagogue as we are of our respective homes.
Our vision for Congregation Shir Shalom’s future can only be realized with the support of new and long-standing congregants, from all corners of our community.
As co-chairs of Atid: Campaign for our Future, we are proud our synagogue is an important center for Jewish life in our fellow congregants’ lives and in our area of Westchester and Fairfield Counties. We have a shared responsibility to strengthen Congregation Shir Shalom and are convinced that the investments we all make in Atid will have a ripple effect for years to come. Whatever your passion, there is a place for you to get involved. We invite you to join us in the work of achieving Congregation Shir Shalom’s bold vision.
How will you take part in moving Congregation Shir Shalom into the future, remaining a strong Jewish presence and hub in our area?
With gratitude,
