Students in grades K-12 attend classes once a week. Students in 7th grade (B'nai Mitzvah year) attend twice weekly.
Our optional K-6, no additional fee Wednesday Enrichment Program, offers students extra review time and enhanced learning opportunities. It acts as a supplement for those who have missed class or need to keep up with the course work. It also is an attractive way to help new students get the extra support needed to fully integrate into our program.
Our rich curriculum, developmentally appropriate for each grade level, includes culture, holidays, Jewish traditions and thoughts, Hebrew and prayers, understanding the Shabbat service and topical issues. Through hands on projects, special events, trips, art and cooking activities, Jewish dramatic arts, social action programs and grade specific Shabbat services students will gain knowledge and understanding of their Jewish heritage.
Our unique STARS program (Shabbat Together And Religious School) encourages activities including Shabbat services, Purim Carnival, Sukkah decorating, school-wide Chanukah party, model Passover Seder, URJ camps programs and our very popular year end party. Students earn points for various activities and are eligible to collect prizes based on their points.
Our unique Mentoring Program encourages trained high school aged students to be teacher assistants. We provide the training for them as classroom assistants. This benefits both our high school aged students, the classroom teachers as well as presenting role models for our younger Religious School students.
Our families are part of our Religious School. We offer monthly family education programs, Religious School Instagram and blog, as ways to help out at holidays, social action projects and special classroom days. Special orientation programs for grades 5, 6 and 7 help parents and students understand the expectations of our Bar/Bat Mitzvah program and Confirmation Programs.
Our professional staff of over 20 teachers including several high school mentors, many who have numerous years teaching in our program, are experienced in Jewish education and have experience working with children.
